Ready to start the new year off on the right foot?! Tired of the same old New Year's resolutions that never seem to stick? Do you want to make some real, tangible changes in your life, but just don't know where to start?

I recommend creating a vision board for 2023!!!

Now, I know what you're thinking – "Suzette, I've heard of vision boards before, but I just don't get it. How do they work?" Well, let me tell you…

…it's all about harnessing the power of positive visualization. By creating a visual representation of your goals and dreams, you can help bring them to life. It’s a simple, yet powerful tool. And it's like magic…but without the need for a wand or incantation ;)

So, without further ado, let's get started on creating your very own 2023 vision board. Here are 4 approaches you might take:

4 Ways to Make a Vision Board

1. Poster Board Vision

First, gather your supplies. You'll need:
• Poster board
• Scissors
• Glue
• Magazines or pictures from the internet

Next, sit down and think about what you want to achieve in the coming year. It could be anything from your weight loss or health goals to finding your dream job or hiking the Grand Canyon.

Once you have a list of goals, start flipping through the magazines and cutting out images and words that represent your goals. Don't worry about being too specific – just go with your gut and choose images that inspire and motivate you.

Now comes the fun part – arranging your cutouts on the poster board. You can create a cohesive theme or just go wild with your collage – it's totally up to you! Just make sure to leave some blank space so you can add in any new goals that come up throughout the year.

Finally, hang your vision board somewhere visible, like on your bedroom wall or in your office. Take a few minutes each day to look at it and visualize yourself achieving your goals. Trust me, it works like a charm!

2. Pinterest

If you prefer the electronic world, use Pinterest to create your 2023 vision.

Similar as above, sit down and think about what you want to achieve in 2023. Think BIG!!! Big thinking is free ;)

Then organize your thoughts into categories like:
• Where you want to travel to
• Skills you want to learn or improve
• What you want to get better at
• Habits you want to build
• How much money you want to make
• New things you want to try

Or possibly categories like:
• Physical
• Spiritual
• Relational
• Professional
• Financial
• Travel and Recreation

Once you have your categories, create a separate board for each one. Then search Pinterest for images and words that represent your goals and pin them on the appropriate board.

Remember to simply pin images that inspire and motivate you! And of course… remember to look at one of your boards (minimum) daily throughout the year.

3. The Ol’ Fashioned Pen and Paper Way

If you want a simple 1 page printable template that you can organize your thoughts on, select one of these I made for you:

No bells and whistles with these templates. No need to get fancy schmancy!

Just get those visions down on a piece of paper in an organized way and hang them up where you will see them regularly.

To start manifesting you have to be clear about what you want!

4. Use an App

OF COURSE there’s an app for that!

I like Horizons.

Save your vision board on your phone lock screen so you can see it regularly!

A Simple Alternative: WORD UP

Pick ONE WORD that will be your theme for the year.

This is less overwhelming that making a whole “creative” vision board, but it’s still a great way to give you focus and direction for the year.

1. Start by writing down as many words as you can think of that describe how you want to feel in 2023.

Perhaps:

• Mindful
• Positive
• Strong
• Courageous
• Confident

OR

• Connected
• Fearless
• Balanced
• Authentic
• Unstoppable

There are no wrong words! Just write down what comes to mind.

2. Review your whole list and notice which word seems to call to you. That’s your word!

Write your word on a sticky note and post it on your bathroom mirror where you can see it daily for all of 2023.

Use your word for guidance in ALL the decisions you make in the coming year: food, exercise, relationships, etc.

Get to It!

Decide on your approach and get to it!

You might just surprise yourself with all the amazing things you can accomplish in 2023. Happy goal-setting, and here's to a fabulous new year!
